Jessica was Baptized!

Hello family!
Well it has been another wonderfully busy week down here in Mexico! But it has been awesome! Jessica Graham was baptized and confirmed this Saturday and Sunday so that was so awesome to be a part of. It was so interesting watching all of the trials that came in her way right before the baptismal date that could have stopped her from being baptized, but she held strong and was able to see the blessings that come from being a member of the Church. It is amazing seeing how truly happy she really is. She has just been sooo excited and every time I see her she is just beaming. The baptismal service was awesome as well. It was small because a lot of the ward members didn’t come, but it was so powerful. We have been working really hard with todd so that he could get over his word of wisdom addiction and be worthy to baptize her. It was so powerful seeing todd, this recent convert who used to fight against the church, baptizing Jessica. Todd was so excited and really took to heart the symbolism and what everything meant. I loved seeing them stand together in white next to the baptismal font. Both had the biggest smiles on their faces! The talks were on baptism and the Holy Ghost and then we had a musical number and the spirit was so strong. Many people were in tears, including Jessica, sister frias, and Todd. It was so tender. I also loved it because when Todd baptized her he pronounced ever word with such meaning, it wasn’t a memorized prayer to Him. It really meant everything to him and he was so privileged to have been asked by her to perform this baptism. Also we had an awesome lesson with Eric, Jessica’s Boyfriend, and we set a baptismal date with him for sept 26th… but he might take a little more time than Jess did so we will keep working on him. But there was an awesome lesson and the spirit was so strong.

It is awesome to live so close to my mission president and I get to help sister miller for the dinners and breakfasts for the incoming and outgoing missionary meals and I am always excited to spend some time over there with them! I just love being in their home...it is awesome! This last Monday we had to stop by to give sister miller something and she ended up making us dinner! We felt so privileged because I am not sure how many other companionship get to have this much time with president and his wife… I just love them!

This week we did exchanges on Thursday. Sooooo I was with HERM again! It was sooo exciting and relieving because we just get along so well! Hermana Amitoelau and I had a wonderful start to the day with studies and then we went out to work. I loved that day so much. We went to her area and so I got to see what she has been doing and I loved it! It has been neat to see how much we have both grown, spiritually and in Spanish, since our days together at the MTC and when we taught together the spirit was so strong. We went and taught rosa.. this little old lady who was getting baptized. But the very best part of the day was our last appointment.. we went over to visit Jorge and Blanca Gomez. Herm, since the mtc, has been praying for her investigators and has had a specific picture of one man who she knew that she would help while out in the field, and when she got to this area, she met Jorge and knew this was him! So we went over there and taught them and the spirit was soo strong. It was the strongest I have ever felt since being on the mission. It just radiated and they witnessed it too. Jorge said that he wasn't sure if he was ready to get baptized yet.. he wanted to know what all the qualifications were, and so we just simply bore testimony of jesus christ. we were there for about an hour and a half and blanca and the members that we brought with us were crying. they knew that they were feeling something different and we boldly testified that it was the spirit witnessing to them that what we were saying is true. they didn't accept a baptismal date...yet...but they felt something very different and all their other doubts had faded away.. they are now able to more willingly focus on being prepared to be baptized. i am so grateful for the opporunity i had to work with herm amitoelau again. It just makes such a difference when you get along so well with your companion that you are able to lose yourself in the work and have a blast while doing it. the people can see how happy you are to be working and that is what stands out to them and they want to know how they can have that in their life as well!

well fam i love you so much and i will work on some things to send out to you this week!

Hermana Osborne
